Nate and I also hiked up Mapleton Canyon. It has to be the best hike I've done this year. There was so much to see up there and it was so green. Anyway, enjoy.

Hiking in Pleasant Grove and Mapleton
I have found some time in the last couple of weeks to get some hiking and rappelling in. I figured I would take advantage of the summer as much as I can after the most depressing winter of all time. I've been up to battle creek twice to do some rappelling and it was great. I also made a cheesy video with REO Speedwagon music because the 80's always made the experience seam better than it was.

Moving back to California
I know it's still a year away but I just thought I would promise myself that this will happen no matter what goes down. So there. It's written down. Help me hold my promise!

Last day for the Renaissance Faire
So I decided to take one more trip to the Renaissance Faire so Mandi could have a chance to go. We also brought Margot, Logan and Katrina. We all had a fun time watching the knights joust as well as me being part of the show. They put a helmet on my head with a cabbage on top and took turns trying to cut the cabbage in two with a sword while riding a horse. Pretty cool.
Out with the old, in with the new
Well, I have to say goodbye to my motorcycle and my Beetle to make way for my new ride. Well, it's not new but it will do for my transportation when we move out to California. It's a 1972 Ural Russian motorcycle complete with side car. I actually have no plans to restore it anytime soon. It will be my daily driver. I can make rounds to the grocery store and even carry projects to school with it because of the side car. The motorcycle itself has two bike style seats. I found it while attending a car show at thanks giving point. I was one of the first to see it and all I had were questions, questions questions. The guy lives in Payson and I went down after the swap meat to get a better look and to hear it start up. It sounds great but it needs a new carburator on the left side. I found that they run only $90 new. The great thing about this bike is that they didn't change the model much since the 1940's so it looks totally vintage.

I've been out doors quite a bit lately. Here are some photos of my recent adventures. Mandi and I went on a bike ride up Provo Canyon to Bridal Veil Falls to kick off the out door season. It's a nice and easy ride but we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day.

My next outdoor adventure as a hike that my brother in law Nate had picked out. We went up spring creek in Springville to the top of the surrounding mountains. It was a tiring hike but the view at the top was rewarding.
I went on a camping trip to the San Rafael Swell in southern Utah with my brothers. We went hiking, rappelling and even shot guns. We also had a chance to go to Goblin Valley. It's an amazing place if you ever get the chance to go. I had a chance to try out my new telescope and practice some astrophotography. The pictures turned out great. I cannot wait for this summer!
