Moon Pictures

The moon looked so beautiful the other night that I had to take some pictures through my telescope. Click photo to view larger size.

I've been out doors quite a bit lately. Here are some photos of my recent adventures. Mandi and I went on a bike ride up Provo Canyon to Bridal Veil Falls to kick off the out door season. It's a nice and easy ride but we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day.

My next outdoor adventure as a hike that my brother in law Nate had picked out. We went up spring creek in Springville to the top of the surrounding mountains. It was a tiring hike but the view at the top was rewarding.

I went on a camping trip to the San Rafael Swell in southern Utah with my brothers. We went hiking, rappelling and even shot guns. We also had a chance to go to Goblin Valley. It's an amazing place if you ever get the chance to go. I had a chance to try out my new telescope and practice some astrophotography. The pictures turned out great. I cannot wait for this summer!

CNN called, They want your story!

I was on a website called ireport.com where people get to write their own news stories. I saw a lot of people complaining about what luxuries they had to give up because of the economic down turn. I decided write about how the economic down turn has changed me as a person and the way I look at life.
CNN.com read my article and gave me a call to ask permission to use it on their main website. Here is the article. http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-220501

I have a big problem when it comes to emissions standards. First off, I am poor. My 1976 beetle barely passed emissions last year. If they raise the standards how will I get around. My state does not have good public transportation like many other states. I understand it is important to protect the environment but at what cost. Do they really want to bankrupt the poor because they have to go out and get a loan for a newer car? Maybe some day.

Well, I think that these are all of the books I have read for the year. I know it's not so great compared with many peoples reading lists but it's better than I usually do so Back Off! Anyway, I had about a six month period where I didn't read anything because summer came around and then school started so I got distracted. Anyways, I was able to finish December with four books. I enjoyed every one of them and look forward to a new year of reading.

2001 A Space Odyssey
Contact
The Hobbit
The Lord of the Rings
The Two Towers
The Return of the King
